       LAB-Tutor


The LAB-Physics software platform consists of multiple interconnected components that run on both Windows and Macintosh OSX platforms. LAB-Physics pedagogy is based on the latest physics education research results. The courseware includes concept-based curriculum modules in which students are guided by a virtual guide agent (tutor) to learn physics by conducting their own experimental investigations.

The College Physics course module is divided into 56 chapters including one capstone investigation chapter at the end of each module. The module contains more than 100 lab setups and 'real world' experimental environments. Each of the 56 chapters will take 20-30 minutes to complete.

Grounded in research-based Modeling pedagogy, our inquiry-based College Physics package includes 13 accelerated course modules comprised of 67 topic-based tutorials (15-25 minutes in length). Each conceptual module ends with a short capstone investigation. College Physics includes over 100 laboratory setups and/or context-rich experimental environments. The course content rivals that of a standard Introductory algebra-based physics textbook and includes the course modules and topics shown in the About Course Modules section.

Tutorials cover the same content (see About Course Modules) as the course modules, but in less detail. Each of the 52 tutorials will take 10-20 minutes to complete.

      LAB-Admin


LAB-Admin is a web-based course administration tool for managing student and faculty accounts, downloading client software, accessing the database including student responses from the Tutor, and student notebooks and graphs. With LAB-Admin, faculty may construct as many courses as they wish from the course modules or tutorials in order to customize instruction.
      LAB-Quiz


Coming soon: LAB-Quiz is a web-based tool for constructing and administering quizzes. LAB-Quiz integrates with the LAB-Tutor system and is capable of automated grading of the following standard question types: multiple choice, multiple select, ranking, true/false, and numerical fill-in.

LAB-Quiz will also include a vector grader, graph grader and motion map grader for specialized grading.
